Rozval came into being a little over a year ago, growing organically out of the work we were already doing together, Dima Kryzhanovskyi, a fashion designer, and my partner, Khrystyna Aristova, an artist. We often find ourselves involved in each other’s projects, leaving traces of our own practices in one another’s work.
Rozval is a natural continuation of this exchange. This shared, long-term project is still in its early stages, but has already taken several different forms and continues to evolve.
The pieces brought together here are connected by an aesthetic and sensibility that feels close to my own, a mix of deconstruction, intellectual design, unconventional classics, and a more personal approach to dressing.
The selection moves between the deconstructive practices of Martin Margiela, Comme des Garçons, and Yohji Yamamoto; the expressive perspectives of the Antwerp Six, including Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, and Walter Van Beirendonck; and the intellectual minimalism of Acne Studios, Jil Sander, and Helmut Lang. It also includes archival pieces from the early days of Vetements and the recently ended journey of Balenciaga under fashion provocateur Demna Gvasalia, alongside the enduring influence of British designers Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen, and a personal favourite, Conner Ives, whose work represents an exciting new direction in contemporary fashion.
Together, they create a collection that blends softness and femininity, considered classics defined by their materials and attention to detail, and a playful, thoughtful approach to daily dressing. It is about bringing together pieces that can coexist while retaining their own character.
Looking ahead, I see the potential for Rozval to grow into a concept store. This space brings together selected archival and contemporary fashion, while creating opportunities to support smaller, independent designers whose work might express this vision in new ways.
Thank you for being here and for becoming part of this moment.
